Confidential.
Resource-oriented.
On equal terms.
• Coaching Approach •
The academic system in Germany is characterized by high intrinsic motivation and the enthusiasm of many members for their field, their projects, and their entire work in teaching, research, and administration. At the same time, it is also marked by high expectations, hierarchical structures, overlapping roles, and competitive pressure.
As a counterpoint to this, I would like to offer you a confidential and non-judgmental space for self-exploration, orientation, and support in finding resource-based solutions to your personal concerns.
• Should I pursue a doctorate? • What options do I have for remaining in academia after my dissertation? • How can I further develop my career? • How can I reconcile my academic passion with my private life? • How can I better set boundaries? • How can I develop my work, improve my leadership skills, and manage conflicts? •

Questions
Especially during transitional phases – during your studies, at the start of your doctorate, or just before gradiation, when considering whether to stay in academia or changing careers – we seek inner clarity.

• About me •

Dr. Johanna Bichlmaier
As the first person in my family to persue a university degree, I began my studies in modern history in Freiburg in 2008. Later I earned my doctorate in the same field. During this time, I often worked alone, immersed in my own research and writing.
Since 2020, I have worked in science management. Initially as a project consultant and now for several years as a team leader. In this role, I began to recognize the importance of building connections between people, ideas, and structures.
The systemic approach, which have I engaged with since 2022, has become my compass and the foundation of my leadership. It helps to recognize connections and interactions, to actively shape realtionships, and to consciously embrace responsibility.
Between January 2025 and February 2026, I have deepened this perspective through DVCT-certified training as a systemic coach. As a leader, I know that collaboration with others helps us grow. No one is an island, and its precisely our interconnectedness where our strength lies.
